Arelys Zúñiga – Independent Real Estate Agent in Pavones, Golfito
My name is Arelys Zúñiga, a local real estate agent born and raised in Pilon de Pavones. Coming from a large, tight-knit family, I learned early the value of strong relationships and community ties. Together with my husband, Randy Walker, we decided to start our own family, raising our two children, Nikol Walker and Kyle Walker, while pursuing our shared passion for entrepreneurship.
Sixteen years ago, Randy and I founded Pavones Surf Shop and Factory, specializing in the manufacturing of surfboards. Through this business, we quickly saw a growing need to connect property sellers with potential buyers in the area. Initially, we offered real estate services on a casual basis, successfully bridging the gap between many local sellers and buyers.
As the demand for real estate services grew, I recognized the need to professionalize the way I served clients. To enhance my skills and expertise, I joined a globally recognized real estate company, which allowed me to further my professional development. However, as time passed, I wanted to provide even more personalized services tailored to the unique needs of my clients in the Pavones region. This led me to become an independent real estate agent, offering my clients a higher level of individualized attention and care.
With a deep passion for connecting people and helping others, I now specialize in the buying and selling of lots, homes, businesses, farms, and vacation rentals. I take pride in ensuring that every transaction is transparent and efficient, offering in-depth knowledge of Costa Rica’s National and Cadastral Registry to ensure that properties are legally sound for a secure sale. My understanding of the area, combined with my local expertise, makes me the best choice to guide you through the process of buying or selling your property in Pavones.
Whether you’re looking to sell your property, buy your dream home, or rent a vacation home, my personalized approach guarantees a seamless experience from start to finish. I’m here to help make your real estate dreams a reality!

Eric Chavarria-  I’ve been a Real Estate agent for over 22 years. I was born in San Jose, Costa Rica and moved with my mother to Miami Beach, Florida when I was just 7 years old. I grew up there, working various jobs as a bus boy, a waiter in fine-dining restaurants and a bartender in high-end clubs. I graduated with a Business Administration degree, but I wanted to be my own boss. I started in real estate at 26 years old in Miami. I have worked for banks, developers, real estate auctions and regular people, like you and me.  Real estate has taken me from Miami, to Kissimmee, Orlando, Naples, Altamont Springs and finally into the Tampa Bay area where I met my wife of 13 years. My wife and I have two children, Brianna and Matthew who are now 13 and 11 years old. I have an active real estate license and a Residential Contractor License in Florida. In 2018, we bought our property in Cuervito de Pavones and within 6 months, sold everything and moved our family to our new home in January of 2019. It was always my dream to move back to Costa Rica, as I remembered playing in beautiful rivers and jungles as a child. We’ve been living in the jungle for 6 years now, with real estate as our primary focus. Real estate in Costa Rica (especially in the jungle) is a totally different endeavor than anywhere in the U.S. I basically had to learn the ins and outs on my own. As a true professional, I sought guidance from some of the people that had been doing real estate successfully in Costa Rica for a long time and had a good reputation. The laws were different, the terrains were different and even the hazards were different, however the basics of it were the same. I knew that what I had to do was take quality photos and video and find ways of sharing that quality material with buyers and other real estate agents.  I’ve put together a real estate “dream team” with good lawyers, topographers, builders, architects and all the necessary folks that help me give you a complete and positive real estate experience. I joined the Board of Realtors here in Costa Rica, The Camara Costarricense de Corredores de Bienes Y Raices, which means I have to abide by the same code of ethics and standards that agents in the United States and Canada abide by. I specialize in residential and commercial real estate. With the help of my wife, Krystin,  we also do property management and since I am a licensed U.S. builder, I also manage construction projects for my clients since Costa Rica does not have construction license requirements. I must say that I really enjoy bringing professionalism to the real estate industry in the jungle of Pavones Costa Rica, but what I enjoy most is when I get to work in the jungle….. I put on bug repellent, sunscreen, mud boots and grab my machete! Chopping my way through the thick brush to show properties is a total contrast from getting dressed up in slacks and loafers to show an air-conditioned luxury home. This is not a temporary thing; this is our way of life now and I wouldn’t change anything about it!
