Properties for sale in Pavones Costa Rica

Pavones is world famous for its amazing surf. Pavones gets surfers flocking from all over the world to surf the world’s second-longest left-hand wave. Yes, you can fly to Chicama, Peru to surf the world’s longest but remember, it’s in much colder water, no thanks! We are spoiled here as we surf with only sunblock and a bathingsuit, if we feel like it, and the waters are the perfect temperature. Pavones should also be known for two other reasons, its beautiful wildlife and its amazing big-game fishing. Here you will see exotic birds, like Scarlet Macaws and Toucans, every day. There are tours you can book to see some of the nature in the area or you can pay for one of the local captains to take you out fishing. Fishing boats here are small Pangas and the captains charge anywhere from $350 to $800 for 1 day of fishing. Usually, people leave extremely happy with their giant Yellowfin Tuna or Mahi. There are also many horse tours you can go on where you can experience the jungle from the inside. Pavones has a few different restaurants to eat at with the average plate costing about $10. Pavones does not have a gas station, so make sure you fill up in one of the bigger towns before heading our way. That’s Rio Claro from one direction or Laurel from the other. You can buy emergency gas from some of the locals and even some of the grocery stores, but don’t expect it to be at market value. On Saturdays, Pavones has a market in the town center where a lot of the locals bring their baked goods and artisanal crafts, perfect as souvenirs or a little something for yourself. Pavones has lots of properties for sale, but prices have been climbing steadily over the last few years. Smaller lots in the Pavones area are going for as much as $100 per square meter, while just 5 years back it was easy to find properties at half the price. The housing here ranges from rusty metal shacks to million-dollar mansions, however there are not a lot of properties in the $150,00 – $300,000 range with western amenities. So if you find a good one, don’t be afraid to go for it.
